GemLife didn’t just enter the over-50s lifestyle category, it helped define it. As the pioneer of premium land-lease living, GemLife shifted the conversation from facilities and floorplans towards the freedom and community of a whole new life. But success invites imitation. Following a recent ASX listing, GemLife engaged us to evolve the brand, where awareness, investor confidence and category leadership all mattered more than ever.
The insight
The over-50s land-lease market looked crowded with premium players, but research revealed weak differentiation, everyone was claiming the same generic "premium lifestyle" ground. Meanwhile, wellness surfaced as a desired yet under-served need that resonated with residents and prospects alike. GemLife led the category first, but no brand truly owned it.
The idea
Rather than be another premium lifestyle brand, GemLife would claim and defend a singular territory, Wellness Through Experiences. Holistic wellbeing embedded in everyday living, substantiated by real programs and new services, and elevated by a genuine purpose: "We empower your best years."
The creative
A brand platform led by wellness and supported by five further pillars, an evolved personality, Assured, Elevated, Effortless, Empowering, and an education-led narrative to demystify the land-lease model. All framed within an ESG framework fit for a newly ASX-listed company, and captured in a confident, market-leading strapline: This is GemLife.
