GLG Legal came to us at a pivotal moment. Leadership changes were reshaping the firm’s future, and the founding partner recognised that the brand and website needed to work harder to attract new clients and signal the progressive, outcome-driven practice GLG had become. What began as a website brief quickly evolved into something more fundamental: a complete brand evolution capable of repositioning the firm in Brisbane’s competitive legal market while serving as a genuine recruitment tool for top-tier talent.
Independent law firms face a particular branding challenge. They’re often perceived either as upstart alternatives to the big nationals, or traditional suburban practices unable to compete on complex matters. GLG Legal was neither.
The insight
Independent law firms face a particular branding challenge — perceived either as second-tier alternatives to the big nationals, or traditional suburban practices unable to compete on complex matters. GLG Legal was neither, but the brand wasn't positioning them as a more agile alternative to the top-tier firms.
The idea
Position GLG as the forward-thinking alternative to the top tier: a firm with specialist-level capability and none of the overhead — built for clients navigating evolving industries, regulations, and market conditions.
The creative
Motion became central to the brand expression. The 3D visualisations flow and transform on screen, a visual metaphor for what GLG does: guiding clients through complexity toward clarity and resolution. The website became the centrepiece of the rebrand, designed to serve clients, partners, and prospective talent equally. Thought leaders. Problem solvers. Innovative law for a changing world.
